A Holiday Ritual To Ring In The New Year

native american mitakuye_oyasin

For the last few years I have gathered together with friends at my home to bless the year and all the gifts it has brought to our life and welcome in the New Year.

Rituals are wonderful ways to celebrate change and birthing new experiences that call to your heart.

So, I thought I would share my ritual that might be similar to what you do or spark a new tradition for you!

Before or after a lovely meal, gather together for a brief meditation and reflect on all the blessings and gifts you experienced throughout the year that supported your healing and growth.

In celebration, take several minutes to share: include the challenges, things that were undesired and painful that served your journey, what you are most proud of, your joys, successes, gratitude…all you wish to claim for yourself.

With paper and pen in hand, make a list of all the things you are still holding onto, what you wish to release and let go of.

Share your list out loud so the group can hold that space for you as witnesses.

Tear the lists into tiny pieces to burn outside in a pot or fireproof container, not in the house. Take a moment of silence as the lists
burn into ashes. With love, release the ashes into the air into God’s hands. Or bury them in the garden with a blessing.

Then I go around to each person with sage to clear their energy field and bless them.

Allow for any sharing folks may want or need.

Then take another piece of paper and write down all you wish to attract into your life in the New Year. What are you ready to say yes to that resonates with your heart? Invite your soul’s voice to speak through your writing to express your deepest desires.

Then roll the paper into a scroll and tie with with ribbon. Place it on your alter, read it daily, or however you wish to use it. Let it
be a living document of intention for the New Year to guide you in your choices as you move forward.

barkAnd! Here’s my raw Peanut butter, coconut and chocolate almond bark recipe.

Prep - ten minutes
Freeze - 30 minutes

¼ cup Organic virgin coconut oil
1 cup Organic coconut flakes
¼ cup Organic coconut butter
2 – 3 dollops Organic chunky peanut butter or organic almond butter
2 tbsp - Unsulfered molasses
1 tsp Organic vanilla extract - (optional)
Unsweetened cacoa square melted, Baker’s dark chocolate - 6 oz ( you can use cocoa powder)
¾ - 1 Cup Organic chopped almonds or any favorite nuts (or
combination)
Pinch of Himalyan or Celtic or Real salt

Melt the coconut oil, and chocolate on moderate heat stirring as needed so it does not burn. Remove from heat and add the rest of the
ingredients.

Pour into a wide glass container on parchment paper and top with additional nuts and coconut flakes if desired. I like to do this and
it looks very pretty! Place container uncovered in the freezer for minimum 30 minutes for the chocolate to harden.

Remove, break into pieces and enjoy! Remember to keep the chocolate refrigerated in a glass container as anything raw melts quickly.

You can also add currants and chocolate nibs.

ENJOY!!
